Caritas Serbia and Montenegro is a member of international confederation of Caritasa Internationalis , which is stationed in Rome. United through this enormous network that drains its strength from the Gospel and Social sciences of Catholic Church, Caritas Serbia and Montenegro, as an institution of Bishop Conference, is present in a social and humanitarian scene of this region for about fifteen years. With the help of our volunteers and professional staff, we strive to contribute to the vision of the Holy Father John Paul II – a creation of a civilization that is based on justice, peace, truth and solidarity, with full respect of every person, created in God’s own image.

In the past period, with the help of members of Caritas Network and other donors, we strived to organize and realize help and support programs whose only goal was efficient and direct help to people in need regardless of their religion, nationality or race.

The Caritas’ programs were pointed towards the refugees from Croatia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kosovo as well as the local population in need of social help. Many vulnerable groups were helped with the distribution of basic food and hygiene supplies, firewood, clothes, shoes and other social help.

We can proudly say that, over the years, Caritas has helped over two million people.

Caritas’ mission is the promotion of efficient Christian love in the service of overall development of human kind, realization of social justice, peace and building of civil society.

Caritas plans to become the organization that mainly helps the elderly, children, young, mental patients and others in need. According to needs and capabilities, we also plan to help the handicapped, single parents, Romains and minorities, marginalized people, unemployed, prisoners and persons with special needs.

These activities are conducted via three basic national projects that every diocese of Caritas implements aside from their own, specific, projects. These are:

Mental Health
Home Care
Youth Program
